Social Security Disability

Social Security provides several types of benefits to individuals who are physically or mentally unable to work and are in need of income, including Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplementle Security Income (SSI). If you are under the age of 65 and it appears that you will be unable to work for a year or more due to a variety of physical handicaps, chronic illnesses or mental disorders, then you may be eligible to receive Social Security Disability benefits (SSD).

You must meet certain requirements based on your work history and your earnings to qualify for Social Security benefits. Our Social Security lawyers and legal assistants can help you file the appropriate forms for your application or appeal and answer any questions that you may have. If you are denied, you must file an appeal within 60 days from the date your SSD or SSI claim is denied or you will have to file a new application, which may cause you to lose back benefits.

If you are 65 years or younger, legally blind or disabled and you do not have a lot of income, then you may be eligible to receive Supplementle Security Income benefits (SSI). You must meet certain  requirements based on your disability, your income level and your assets to quality for SSI benefits. Our Social Security lawyers and legal assistants can help you file the appropriate forms for your application or appeal and answer any questions that you may have. You must also file this appeal within 60 days from the date your SSI claim is denied or you will have to file a new application, which may cause you to lose back benefits.

Typically, the clients we help have already been turned down by the Social Security Administration. Even if your claim has been denied, we  may be able to help you. In addition, if you have not yet filed a claim our staff can assist in the initial filing.

Unfortunately, many people are denied when they initially apply for Social Security disability benefits. That’s why it is important to have representation during this difficult process. Our staff can assist you through the maze of Social Security regulations. At the Stiller Law Firm, we have been extremely successful in helping people obtain the Social Security disability benefits to which they are entitled.
